Who We Are

Shalom Home of Relief Limited is a Christian community based, non- profit making organization formed out of a compassionate heart in response to the Plight of the Children with Disabilities living in our locality. Through our keen observation, we noticed many Children who are hardly seen, heard and appropriately cared for. 

The general poverty, lack of knowledge, lack of deliberate plan for them, very limited government social intervention, and the traditional sense of despair and negative mythical attitudes towards children with disabilities, Such children are left not only to suffer while they are young but also to live undeveloped, thus neglected for them to suffer more when they later become adults. The need is so over whelming that we don’t at all meet the minimum targeted services. This is made worse due to the fact that the surrounding communities have now known of our services so they approach us with new cases of children with Disabilities for us to handle, yet as it were, we cannot due to the very limited available resources.

Our Approach

We Facilitate Safe Learning Spaces

Shalom Home of Relief Limited works closely with communities to change perceptions about disability, recognising it as a natural part of life rather than a limitation. Through community sensitisation programs, workshops, and outreach initiatives, the organisation addresses stigma and negative attitudes that hinder the inclusion of people with disabilities. By fostering acceptance and understanding, Shalom Home of Relief creates an environment where children, especially girls with disabilities, are valued, respected, and encouraged to realise their potential.

The organisation equips people with disabilities with practical skills and knowledge to promote self-reliance. This includes providing meaningful academic and vocational training tailored to individual abilities and aspirations, enabling beneficiaries to engage in sustainable livelihoods. In addition, Shalom Home of Relief offers medical and rehabilitation services to support physical well-being, ensuring that health challenges do not hinder progress toward independence. These interventions are designed to address both immediate needs and long-term empowerment.

Central to all its work is a commitment to holistic care rooted in Biblical Christian teachings. Shalom Home of Relief integrates spiritual growth with practical support, guiding children and adults with disabilities to find strength, hope, and identity in Christ. Through discipleship, pastoral care, and compassionate service, the organisation nurtures the whole person—spirit, soul, and body—ensuring that empowerment is not only material but also deeply transformative in line with its mission.

  4. To offer comprehensive Biblical Christian teachings and services.
